As a leading company in condom industry, Okamoto is actively participating in different activities to promote dissemination of testing and awareness for prevention of STI’s including HIV/AIDS, and unwanted pregnancy.
Contents of Activities
・Donation and supportive activities to Japan Foundation for AIDS Prevention.
・Donation of condoms to the Ghana Family Planning Association through Japanese Organization for International Cooperation in Family Planning (JOICFP).
・Educational Event on December 1st, the World AIDS day.
・After each of the great earthquake disasters such as Hanshin-Awaji earthquake, East Japan earthquake and Kumamoto earthquake, we actively donated our products such as rubber boots and protective vinyl gloves, as well as the relief money.
・On March 2nd, 2019, one of our Thailand factories Okamoto Rubber Products volunteered at their neighbor special school by repairing and painting the walls, toilets, etc. Further, they donated stationeries and snacks to the children.
・Okamoto has been supporting the sex education and cloth napkin project in Ghana by DOYA Co., Ltd. and the certified non-profit organization CLOUDY, and has released condoms in collaboration with “CLOUDY” from November 2021.
A portion of the proceeds from the condom sales will be used for supporting activities that provide opportunities to learn correct knowledge about sex and to spread the use of cloth napkins.
Within six months from November 2011, we have prepared and distributed 1,800 sanitary sets and conducted sex education classes to 1,200 students in Ghana.
We will continue to proactively engage in social contribution activities.
